Much of the buzz surrounding the Arizona Cardinals and their interest in drafting a quarterback has centered around North Carolina’s Mitchell Trubisky, Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer and Texas Tech’s Patrick Mahomes.

Sure, it’s possible the Cardinals will nab one of those passers with the 13th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, but they of course are not the only quarterbacks available to be selected.

And, according to a report, they had a chance to chat with one of the more intriguing options.

Just looking at him, Webb seems every bit the franchise quarterback.

He stands in at 6-foot-5 and 229 pounds, and has plenty of arm strength to go along with decent accuracy.

However, he is not without his question marks.

Webb began his career at Texas Tech, where he played plenty in 2013 and 2014 but then took a backseat to Patrick Mahomes in 2015. He then transferred to California, where last season he threw for 4,295 yards and 37 touchdowns with 12 interceptions.

Though he has the look of a prototypical NFL QB, Webb has played in spread offenses that differ from what he is likely to run in the NFL, and has yet to show the kind of consistency teams would like to see from their starter. He has excelled throwing shorter passes, but has struggled some when asked to get the ball down the field.

Webb is not the only QB the Cardinals have reportedly met with or gotten a closer look at, and their visiting with him does not necessarily mean they see him as an option for pick No. 13. If nothing else, however, the Cardinals should now have a better idea of what he brings to the table.
