Michigan basketball fan gives the saddest fist pump during school’s loss

Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you the world's saddest fist pump.

Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you the world’s saddest fist pump.

Near the end of Michigan’s home game against the New Jersey Institute of Technology, the Crisler Center played a crowd prompt that encourages fans to clap their hands and pump their fists.

Being that the home team was trailing its seemingly inferior opponent by three points with just over four seconds left, Michigan fans were a little worried, to say the least.

The following Vine video shows the anxiety surrounding the home crowd.

The No. 17 Wolverines were unable to dig themselves out of a hole, giving NJIT a historic 72-70 upset.

The Highlanders, a Division I independent, entered the game 2-5, while Michigan was 6-1, so the small school’s win was improbable on many levels.

Is it us, or is young fan responsible for the “saddest fist pump” reminiscent, at least in appearance, of Jack Blankenship, aka the “Alabama Face Guy”?
