Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim and head coach Steve Wilks knew they were getting their franchise quarterback when they drafted Josh Rosen with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The Cardinals signed veteran quarterbacks Sam Bradford and Mike Glennon in February, setting up the duo to help develop Rosen before he takes over under center in the future.

But what if the future isn’t as far off as some believe?

According to Cardinals running back D.J. Foster, who joined 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s Bickley & Marotta on Thursday, Rosen’s anticipated success in the NFL could come sooner than some expect.

“It’s unbelievable to see his confidence as a rookie to come in here and make some of the passes he has been making,” Foster said. “He’s definitely a very talented young man and it’s exciting to watch him go out there and do some of the spectacular things he can do.

“You can tell he is just getting started. He is going to be exciting for the future, or now.”

Rosen has impressed since stepping foot in the Cardinals’ Tempe facility following the draft in April.

And while some believe his confidence comes off as arrogance, his talent on the field is undeniable.

Rosen shined in rookie mini-camp, showing off his arm strength and accuracy.

His momentum carried over to OTAs, where he at times took snaps with the first-team offense.

A common consensus among players was Rosen’s ability to command the huddle, showing his natural leadership ability among some of the Cardinals’ seasoned veterans.

Rosen has been highly touted as a Rookie of the Year candidate, despite Bradford and Glennon remaining ahead of him on the depth chart.

No matter how the quarterback race plays out for the Cardinals, Foster is confident in each player’s ability to lead the team.

“It’s great to see them compete,” Foster said. “They’re all extremely talented. It’s incredible just to see all of their poise and how they carry themselves.

“It’s fun to go out there and see them make some incredible plays.”
