The Arizona Coyotes announced Thursday the trade of two prospects, forward Mike Sislo and defenseman Brandon Hickey, to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for forward Hudson Facshing.
The 22-year-old Fasching scored 12-18-30 with 40 penalty minutes in 69 games with the Sabres’ AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans, this past season. He also appeared in five NHL games with Buffalo, scoring no points and averaging 9:42 of ice time. The right-handed-shooting Wisconsin native was drafted in the fourth round (118th overall) in 2013 by the LA Kings.
Sislo scored 23 goals with 24 assists and 28 penalty minutes in 68 contests with the playoff-bound Tucson Roadrunners this season. He also had a goal and an assist in nine postseason games. Sislo was in his first season with the Coyotes organization.
Hickey played at Boston University last season, scoring six goals and eight assists in 35 games. He was originally drafted by the Calgary Flames in 2014 in the third round (64th overall) but came to the coyotes in last summer’s Mike Smith trade.
The move comes the week before the NHL Draft, which will take place in Dallas on June 22. The Coyotes own the fifth overall pick.
