The Los Angeles Rams looked good on paper to begin the year.
Through four weeks of the season, they’ve met every expectation by beating their opponents by an average of 18.3 points. The other remaining undefeated team, the Kansas City Chiefs, have rode second-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ hot start, though they have a few troubling issues on the defensive side of the ball.
After that, there’s a lot of parity, or at least uncertainty.
Doug & Wolf’s power poll heading into Week 5 reflects that pretty well.
Each of Doug Franz, Ron Wolfley and Paul Calvisi have a team in their top-five that doesn’t appear in either of the other pollsters’ rankings.
Doug has the upstart Bears fifth. Wolf is the only one of the three with the Jaguars in the top-five, and they’re all the way at No. 3. Calvisi, meanwhile, tabs the Titans as his fifth-best NFL team.
