Arizona Cardinals defensive end Chandler Jones isn’t donating what he committed to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He’s doubling what he promised with two games left in the 2018 regular season.

Jones said he would donate $20,000 per sack to the hospital before the second-to-last game of the year, and though he only tallied 1.0 sack combined against the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks, the defensive end announced on Wednesday that he had donated $40,000.

The lone sack over the last two games came on Sunday in a 27-24 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Relatively, Jones had a quiet season. But quiet for him is 13.0 sacks, tied for eighth-most in the NFL this year.

Jones led the NFL with 17.0 sacks last season, and since joining Arizona in 2016 via a trade with the New England Patriots, he has led the NFL with 41 total sacks.

In 2018, Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald led the league with 20.5 sacks.

Bettering Jones in sacks this year were Texans defensive end J.J. Watt (16.0 sacks), Chiefs defensive end Chris Jones (15.5), Broncos linebacker Von Miller (14.5), Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter (14.5), Seahawks defensive end Frank Clark (14.0) and Browns defensive end Myles Garrett (13.5).

Washington linebacker Ryan Kerrigan, Kansas City linebacker Dee Ford and Pittsburgh linebacker T.J. Watt tied Jones with 13.0 sacks.
