Three former Arizona Cardinals were announced as modern-era finalists for the 2019 Pro Football Hall of Fame on Thursday.

Don Coryell, Alan Faneca and Edgerrin James all spent at least part of their careers with the Cardinals’ franchise.

Coryell was the Cardinals head coach from 1973-1977, when the team was located in St. Louis. He retired as the all-time franchise leader in wins with 42, but has since been passed by Ken Whisenhunt and Bruce Arians.

He also spent seven years as the San Diego Chargers head coach and finished with 111 wins.

Coryell passed away in 2010 at 85 years old. This will be the fifth season he has been on the ballot.

An offensive lineman, Faneca was a nine-time Pro Bowler and six-time first-team All Pro. He ended his career with one season in the desert in 2010, starting all 16 games.

His career spanned 13 years, including 10 seasons with Pittsburgh where he won a Super Bowl with the Steelers in 2005.

James spent three years in Arizona from 2006-08. His best season in Arizona was in 2007 when he racked up 1,222 yards and seven touchdowns on 324 carries.

He finished his 11-year career with 12,246 rushing yards (No. 13 all time) and 80 rushing touchdowns (No. 20 all time).

Other finalists include Steve Atwater, Champ Bailey, Tony Boselli, Isaac Bruce, Tom Flores, Tony Gonzalez, Steve Hutchinson, Ty Law, John Lynch, Kevin Mawae, Ed Reed and Richard Seymour.

The Hall of Fame’s Board of Selectors will meet on Feb. 2 in Atlanta, the day before Super Bowl LIII, to narrow the list to a maximum of five players.
