The nation got one of its first glimpses of a couple of future Arizona Wildcats on the court together Wednesday night.

Arizona commits Nico Mannion and Josh Green took center stage as the two repped the West in the McDonald’s All-American Game.

Pinnacle’s Mannion got the start for the West, dropping eight points on 3-of-8 shooting (1-3 from long range), two assists and a steal in 15 minutes of action. The five-star recruit also had one turnover.

Green, also a five-star recruit, came off the bench, adding eight points, two assists and a steal in 14 minutes. The IMG Academy product went 4-9 from the field (0-2 from deep).

Leading the way for the West, coached by Gilbert Christian head coach Kurt Keener, was James Wiseman and Oscar Tshlebwe. The two combined for 25 points and 16 rebounds.

Unfortunately for the West that wasn’t enough to get over the hump as the East took home the 115-100 win.

Behind Precious Achiuwa’s 22-point effort, the East jumped ahead early, taking a 60-49 advantage over the West into halftime. As a team, the East shot 65.1 percent in the opening half.

A big reason for the East’s dominant showing was their work down low as they scored 82 of their 115 points in the paint. The West scored just 50.

The East also capitalized on the West’s mistakes, scoring 29 points off of turnovers compared to the West’s six.
