Former Charlotte Hornets power forward Frank Kaminsky has signed his agreed-upon contract with the Phoenix Suns, the team announced Wednesday.

“Frank is an exceptional shooter who will help us space the floor and give our guards more room to operate,” Suns general manager James Jones said in a release. “His size and strong decision-making skills are also a great fit for the team we are building, so we are excited to welcome Frank to Phoenix.”

The two-year deal was reportedly worth $10 million on the room exception.

The Charlotte Hornets had declined a qualifying offer for the fifth-year pro, making the ninth overall pick in the 2015 draft an unrestricted free agent.

Kaminsky, a 7-footer, has two double-digit scoring seasons under his belt and has shot 37% from three-point range in the last two years. Finally, his overall shooting percentages were above 43% last season — he shot 46% from the field — but the 26-year-old appeared in just 47 games under first-year head coach James Borrego.

Dario Saric is expected to be the Suns’ starting power forward.

Kaminsky will add depth to a frontcourt that also includes centers Deandre Ayton and Aron Baynes, along with Cheick Diallo, who the Suns reportedly agreed to a two-year deal with on Wednesday.

This offseason, the Suns traded forwards T.J. Warren and Josh Jackson and point guard De’Anthony Melton, while losing center Richaun Holmes, shooting guard Troy Daniels and power forward Dragan Bender in free agency.
