The Arizona Cardinals have now gone consecutive halves without a touchdown.

After being shut out in the second half last week by the Oakland Raiders, the Cardinals could not put a point on the board against the Denver Broncos in the first half of Thursday’s game.

As the first quarter neared its end, starting quarterback Brett Hundley connected with tight end Ricky Seals-Jones on a short pass. Seals-Jones turned up field, made a nice move and went 31 yards – but then the ball got knocked away. The Broncos recovered.

Arizona had another chance near the end of the half. Cornerback Nate Brooks intercepted a tipped pass, giving the Cardinals possession with 3:48 remaining.

But again, the team was unable to make it count and was forced to punt.

Arizona got the ball back with 45 seconds left in the half but had tight end Caleb Wilson fumbled to dash the scoring opportunity.

At halftime, the Broncos led 10-0.

Hundley, who played the full first quarter, went 7-for-8 with 55 yards but was sacked twice.

The team only attempted five carries in the half, one of which was Hundley and two were quarterback Drew Anderson. Running back T.J. Logan had one carry for five yards and D.J. Foster had one carry for three.

Wide receiver KeeSean Johnson led the team with four receptions, and his 19 receiving yards were second to Seals-Jones. Wide receiver Damiere Byrd did not have a snap in the half, implying that he has made the team.

Linebacker Dennis Gardeck had a team-high five total tackles.
