The NFL’s latest trade rumor centers around Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Cardinals have received significant interest for Peterson, but have rejected all trade offers up to this point.

Pro Football Talk added that at least one of the rejected offers included a first-round pick, and possibly more.

The rejections fall in line with GM Steve Keim’s recent remarks to Doug & Wolf on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.

“We are not trading Patrick Peterson. Our stance has simply been, ‘Why trade a player in his prime at one of the hardest positions to find for a maybe or a couple maybes? Love what Pat brings to the locker room, love what he brings to the field,” Keim said Oct. 18.

“Those positions are impossible to find: left tackles, quarterbacks, corners. There’s no doubt, in my opinion, he is the best in the National Football League and will remain a Cardinal.”

Peterson started his second game of the season against the New Orleans Saints following a six-game suspension for PED use on Sunday. Against the New York Giants in Week 7, the CB recorded seven tackles, a sack and a forced fumble, while helping energize the defense.

In his nine-year career, Peterson has accumulated 394 tackles, 23 interceptions, 76 passes defensed and 4.0 sacks, making the Pro Bowl his first eight seasons.
