The Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday announced a series of roster moves that included signing defensive lineman Caraun Reid and elevating two linebackers from the practice squad.

Kylie Fitts and Tanner Vallejo were elevated to active roster from the practice squad. Fellow linebacker Pete Robertson was released. Additionally, three players were signed to the practice squad: quarterback Drew Anderson, wide receiver Saeed Blacknall and defensive lineman Lyndon Johnson.

Reid is a 28-year-old defensive tackle who has played 44 NFL games over parts of five seasons with three different franchises (Lions, Chargers, Cowboys). He has yet to appear in an NFL game this year, but he was with the the Indianapolis Colts during the preseason before his release on Aug. 31.

His joining the Cardinals could mean immediate playing time following an injury to defensive end Jonathan Bullard, who was hurt during Sunday’s game against LA and will be out “the next few weeks,” according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

The addition of two linebackers also could foreshadow the already-anticipated move of Haason Reddick to outside linebacker. Fitts has been with the Cardinals practice squad since Sept. 3 and was a sixth-round pick in 2018 by Chicago; Vallejo has experience already with the Cardinals but played for the Redskins for nine games this year.

Anderson re-joins Arizona after being on its roster for the preseason. He replaces the outgoing Kyle Sloter, the QB whom the Lions signed off of the Cardinals’ practice squad last week.

Blacknall is an alumnus of Penn State and was an undrafted free agent signing by the Oakland Raiders in 2018. He was on Oakland’s active roster last year, but didn’t play.

Johnson played three games last year, his rookie year, with Jacksonville after the Jaguars signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati.
