Last week wasn’t a one-off. Rookie quarterback Kyler Murray put together a second poor game in a 23-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers a week after he struggled in a blowout by the Los Angeles Rams.

His final box score Sunday: 20 of 30 passes completed for 194 yards, two touchdowns and three picks.

Murray only had two net rushing yards and was sacked five times.

“As long as I’m on the football field, I feel in control,” Murray said after the game. “Two interceptions doesn’t spook me or anything like that. I’m fine. It’s just a little frustrating that I put us in that position. I feel like if we would’ve just took the points or I didn’t turn the ball over, we would have been fine, we would have won the game, and everyone would be happy right now. That’s the frustrating part.”

But is he trying to do too much?

That was the main point of discussion between co-hosts Rudy Carpenter and Kevin Zimmerman on the K1 Podcast.

Here’s what else was touched on in the Week 14 edition of the podcast.

5:00 – Murray reacts well to mistakes, but even his touchdown pass to David Johnson was a risky decision.

7:40 – The trio of running backs got some burn, but the situation is still curious when it comes to why Johnson isn’t getting playing time.

11:00 – Rudy remains concerned over the number of sacks Murray is taking. The rookie is also missing open routes.

14:50 – What does it mean that Johnson and Patrick Peterson, two of the team’s stars, are struggling to contribute?

17:12 – If the Cardinals are committed to Murray and Kingsbury, they’ve got to get rid of everyone who isn’t buying in, Rudy says.

19:35 – Three games remain. Can the Cardinals beat the Browns?
