The Arizona Wildcats and Sean Miller have landed the commitment of four-star wing Bennedict Mathurin, he told 247 Sports.

Mathurin is ranked No. 72 in the country by 247 Sports and is the No. 18 small forward in the class. The 6-foot-6 wing has stood out in the NBA Academy Latin America.

Miller’s recruiting class hasn’t quite picked up the sizzle just yet at the start of 2020, as Mathurin joins four-star guard and No. 33 overall prospect Dalen Terry as the only other commit in the class of 2020. In 247 Sports’ crystal ball, the top remaining prospects are not forecasted to go to Arizona.

The Wildcats, of course, are coming off an outstanding 2019 class that included five-stars Nico Mannion and Josh Green, along with four-star Zeke Nnaji, who has actually outperformed his strong evaluation already. All three, though, have NBA Draft buzz and are projected currently to go in the first round by ESPN, with Mannion threatening to be drafted top-10.

That’s where Miller will have to look at members of his current roster like freshman Christian Koloko, sophomore Brandon Williams and junior Ira Lee to take a step forward. The big name to keep an eye on is Jordan Brown, a five-star power forward ranked No. 19 in 2018 that transferred to Arizona from Nevada. He is currently sitting out a year and will be eligible next season.

Arizona is 11-5 this season as they get into the thick of the Pac-12 schedule. They were swept by the Oregon schools on the road and will look to bounce back at home against Utah and Colorado.
