The Phoenix Suns and MassMutual Foundation partnered to help 4,000 middle school kids this week.

As part of MassMutual Foundation’s FutureSmart Challenge, thousands of kids piled into Talking Stick Resort Arena to get a better understanding on the importance of financial responsibility on Thursday.

“FutureSmart Challenge events are arranged in conjunction with select professional sports teams across the nation, and the program extends a long-time collaboration with Junior Achievement of Arizona and EVERFI to provide additional financial education in the classroom,” the partnership’s press release read.

Suns rookie forward Cam Johnson joined award-winning actor and best-selling author Hill Harper to help lead the event. Johnson provided financial tips to students, and The Gorilla even made an appearance.

Thursday marked the seventh MassMutual Foundation FutureSmart Challenge event in Phoenix, and was the third stop on the 2020 multi-city tour.
