ASU enters Pac-12 Tournament as No. 3 seed, Arizona is No. 5 seed

There were numerous seeding possibilities for the Pac-12 Tournament at the start of Saturday as four teams battled for two spots that would receive first round byes.

Arizona State, Arizona, USC and Colorado were all looking for a ticket to the quarterfinals as the No. 3 or No. 4 seed, joining Oregon and UCLA who had already locked in the top-2 spots.

At the end of the day, Arizona State will enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed, while USC grabbed the No. 4 seed.

Arizona State held off Washington State at home to secure the spot and a date with either Colorado or Washington State in the quarterfinals on Thursday at 8:30 p.m.

The Sun Devils shot up the standings by winning eight of their final ten games.

USC earned the No. 4 seed and will take on the winner of the Arizona vs. Washington game after beating rival UCLA in a thriller, 54-52, on Saturday.

Arizona fell to Washington 69 to 63 at home, and Utah edged out Colorado 74 to 72.

Arizona gets a chance to take revenge against Washington in the first round on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.

The rematch will feature two teams that ended the season on very different trajectories, as Arizona lost four of its last five to end the season while Washington concluded the campaign beating both Arizona schools on the road.
