Arizona Wildcats swingman Josh Green “can’t wait for the next chapter” and announced Friday that he’s entering his name in the 2020 NBA Draft.

“Ever since I was a little kid in Australia, it’s been a goal of mine to play in the NBA,” he wrote in a note posted to Twitter. “I’m proud to take a step closer to that dream. After careful consideration with those closest to me, I’ve decided to declare for the 2020 NBA Draft.

“I’d like to thank everyone at the University of Arizona for their help and support.”

The 6-foot-6, 210-pound wing is likely a first-round pick despite underwhelming numbers at Arizona during his freshman year. Green averaged 12.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game, shooting 42% from the field.

ESPN has Green as the 21st-best prospect.

Green could have used a strong postseason run to boost his draft stock, as he sometimes got lost in the shuffle for an Arizona team led by fellow 2020 draft prospects Zeke Nnaji and Nico Mannion.

That wasn’t a case in his last game, a Pac-12 Tournament-opening win over Washington in which he scored 19 points to go with four boards, three assists, a block and two steals.

Green is a high-caliber athlete and showed potential to become a high-level defender and above-average shooter. He shot 36% from three-point range and flashed solid decision-making for the Wildcats.

He struggled to score in the midrange but used his athleticism to score well at the rim and in spot-up situations at the college three-point arc.
