The Arizona Diamondbacks announced Monday the group of 60 players that will be available to the team for the start of summer camp, the preseason period leading up to the 60-game 2020 season.

The D-backs will commence spring training 2.0 with the 60-player pool, and from those, 30 will be selected for the opening day active roster. That active roster limit will eventually wind down to 26, and those not on the active roster will remain at an alternate site, which for the Diamondbacks is their normal spring training home, Salt River Fields in Scottsdale. Also, as there normally is during baseball’s regular season, there will be a 40-man roster, which is also included in the 60-player total.

Teams are allowed to make changes to the 60-player pool during the season, just as teams are normally allowed to release players, place players on waivers, make trades, sign free agents, etc.

In addition to the active roster, teams will be allowed to bring three other players from the 60-player pool on every road trip. This group of three is known as the taxi squad.

The Diamondbacks and Major League Baseball are using unique rules under unique circumstances as the coronavirus pandemic put their original plans for a 2020 season on pause back in March.

Here’s a look at the 60-player group that the D-backs have designated for the start of the 2020 season (players marked with an asterisk are not on the 40-man roster):
