The Arizona Cardinals’ annual Red & White practice during training camp is often one of the first big gatherings of fans to watch Cardinals football, but because of the coronavirus pandemic, it will be a little different this year.

The team will still hold the event, but it will not be open to fans. It will take place on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at State Farm Stadium, and NBC 12 News (KPNX-TV) will air it in a two-hour special on Saturday starting after playoff hockey concludes. That’s expected to be at about 8 p.m.

The TV special on 12 News will be hosted by Arizona Sports’ own Paul Calvisi and Ron Wolfley.

Wolfley has been attending Cardinals practices multiple times per week and can be heard on Doug & Wolf weekdays from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station or the Arizona Sports app.

Cardinals team reporter Darren Urban will also be on the broadcast.

The Red & White practice TV special will include interviews with Cardinals players and head coach Kliff Kingsbury, profiles on offseason acquisition DeAndre Hopkins and second-year quarterback Kyler Murray, an in-depth preview of the upcoming season and a closer look at the COVID-19 protocols in place for the Cardinals and other NFL teams.

The Cardinals’ 2020 regular season is scheduled to begin on Sept. 13 with a road game at the San Francisco 49ers. Their first home game is on Sept. 20 against the Washington Football Team.

This year’s preseason was canceled.
