ASU football fans will need to wake up earlier than usual to catch the Sun Devils kick off the 2020 season on Nov. 7 as the team is set for a 10 a.m. start time against the USC Trojans in Los Angeles.

This year’s schedule is the first with 9 a.m. Pacific time (10 a.m. Mountain) kickoffs in Pac-12 history, with previous seasons including kickoffs at noon local time or later, according to 247 Sports.

Head coach Herm Edwards expressed confidence in his team’s ability to handle the early kickoff time against the Trojans, saying during Saturday’s pregame show on Fox that his players will rise to the occasion.

“Well, I think anytime you get to play football, when you think about us, we’ve been off for almost seven months, and there were times going through this process of trying to find out when we were going to play,” Edwards said. “I think the players and coaches in our conference are all excited about the opportunity. And anytime you can play a team like USC in your first game, a national school when it comes to branding and all that.”

“Our whole conference is excited about playing football again.”

Along with the opening week kickoff against USC, the Sun Devils’ schedule includes road games against Colorado and Arizona and home contests against Cal, Utah and UCLA.

The Sun Devils’ lone Friday night game comes against the Wildcats on Dec. 11 in Tucson, while fellow conference members Oregon, UCLA and Utah will all play two Friday night games apiece.

The Pac-12’s regular season schedule also includes an open week during the conference championship game, on Dec. 18, where all 12 teams will play a team to be announced at a later date.
