Arizona Sports NFL Power Rankings Week 7: Cardinals jump up 3 spots

Well, the Seattle Seahawks had Week 6 off, so they didn’t have to do much to maintain their top spot in this week’s Arizona Sports NFL Power Rankings.

Some other teams found Week 6 to be rough sledding, though.

The Green Bay Packers, who ranked No. 2 in last week’s rankings, got destroyed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and fell four spots. The Buffalo Bills lost their second straight and fell out of the top-10 for the first time in a while.

And the Arizona Cardinals, fresh off a 28-point win over the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football, elevated three spots back in to the top half of our latest pecking order.

Arizona Sports NFL Power Rankings Week 7

1. Seattle Seahawks (5-0) —
Dealing with Russell Wilson and D.K. Metcalf is going to be a problem for a long time.

2. Pittsburgh Steelers (5-0) ▲1
Ben Roethlisberger has been outstanding.

3. Tennessee Titans (5-0) —
As Peter King pointed out in Football Morning in America, Ryan Tannehill is the highest-ranked QB in the league since the beginning of 2019.

4. Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) ▲1
Not sexy, but got a bounceback win after their first loss.

5. Baltimore Ravens (5-1) ▲1
A bad two-point play away from going to overtime with the Eagles.

6. Green Bay Packers (4-1) ▼4
Ouch.

7. Chicago Bears (5-1) ▲1
They’re 5-1, but I’m still not sure how good they are.

8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-2) ▲7
If the Bucs defense plays like it did against Green Bay, look out.

9. Las Vegas Raiders (3-2) ▲1
Have a chance to really announce their arrival vs. Tampa Bay.

10. New Orleans Saints (3-2) ▲3
Will Michael Thomas have the right mindset as he returns to the field?

11. Indianapolis Colts (4-2) ▲3
Nice comeback win, but how do you get down three touchdowns against Cincinnati?

12. Buffalo Bills (4-2) ▼3
After playing at an MVP level for four games, quarterback Josh Allen has come back down to Earth.

You can’t play all your games against teams from the worst division in league history.

14. Arizona Cardinals (4-2) ▲3
Yes, it was against Andy Dalton, but the Cards defense looked hungrier than it has all year.

15. Cleveland Browns (4-2) ▼3
When the Browns lose, they do it BIG.

16. San Francisco 49ers (3-3) ▲3
Injuries continue to pile up, but the Niners got a gutty win over the Rams.

17. Miami Dolphins (3-3) ▲1
The Dolphins got their first shutout win since 2014.

18. Carolina Panthers (3-3) ▼4
Teddy Bridgewater’s worst game of the year cost the Panthers against Chicago.

19. New England Patriots (2-3) ▼8
Cam Newton looked awful vs. Denver; the Pats are under .500 in October or later for the first time since 2002.

You don’t see too many Lions road wins as dominant as Sunday’s in Jacksonville.
