The Phoenix Suns have agreed to sign former Orlando Magic wing B.J. Johnson, the 24-year-old confirmed Wednesday afternoon. HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reported the signing.

It has not been reported whether Johnson will join the Suns as their 15th rostered player or in the second two-way slot that remains available for them to use. He could also be added as a training camp body.

Johnson has 17 games of NBA experience with the Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings and Magic. He has been in the G League’s Lakeland Magic squad and played for the Hawks and Kings on 10-day deals.

In 28 starts for Lakeland last year, the 6-foot-7, 200-pound wing averaged 22.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.1 steals per game. He shot 46% from the floor and 42% from three-point range. Johnson spent two years at Syracuse and two years at LaSalle in college projects as a strong shooter with the length to become a defensive disruptor.

The Suns are already loaded at the wing positions with Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson and Jae Crowder expected to earn most of the rotation minutes. Phoenix also committed to retaining Abdel Nader, who was acquired in the Chris Paul blockbuster, as insurance.
