Arizona State head coach Herm Edwards and his staff continue to find recruiting success.

With a solid class coming in next season, the Sun Devils are positioned 29th in ESPN’s 2021 college football recruiting class rankings.

After signing the No. 23-ranked class in February, Herm Edwards and staff have the Sun Devils back near the top 25 with commitments from ESPN 300 CBs Isaiah Johnson and Tommi Hill. A third four-star in the class is WR Lonyatta Alexander.

Headlining Edwards’ 2021 class are four-star recruits Lonyatta Alexander and cornerback Isaiah Johnson.

Alexander, who ranks No. 300 in ESPN’s top 300 commits, had 16 offers from other schools, including Arizona and six other Pac-12 programs.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder ranks eighth overall in his home state of Washington and 53rd in the nation at his position.

Defensively, the Sun Devils add more depth to their secondary with Johnson, who ranks 182nd in ESPN’s top 300 commits.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound cornerback out of St. Bernard High School in California ranks 11th in the nation at his position and 18th overall in the state.

ESPN also highlighted the program’s ability to recruit out of state with other solid additions from Texas, Louisiana and California.

A pair of three-star prospects in OLB Jaydon Williams and C Ezra Oyetade were big wins out of the Lone Star State over Texas. Three-star QB Finn Collins and CB Robert Regan are strong evaluations out of California. Length to develop on defense comes in the form of three-stars Eric Gentry, and Pelican State DE Gharin Stansbury. Offensive line depth is increasing some with three-stars Austin Barry and legacy Isaia Glass.

The Alabama Crimson Tide — and its 17 top 300 recruits — lead the pack of 50 programs in the ranking.

The Oregon Ducks (6th), USC Trojans (13th), California Golden Bears (18th), Washington Huskies (21st), Utah Utes (33rd) and Stanford Cardinal (46th) also made the cut among the other Pac-12 teams.
