ASU basketball game against Huskies postponed amid coronavirus issues

Jan 1, 2021, 12:51 PM | Updated: 12:56 pm

The Saturday evening men’s basketball game between the Arizona State Sun Devils and Washington Huskies in Seattle has been postponed due to coronavirus developments within the Arizona State program, ASU announced Friday.

Arizona State’s game on Thursday against Washington State in Pullman was also postponed due to coronavirus issues in the ASU program.

The Pac-12 Conference will work with both teams to find a date to reschedule the game, as was the case with the previous postponement on Thursday.

Arizona State is scheduled to play Washington in Tempe on Feb. 25.

This is the first time coronavirus developments in the Arizona State program have caused the postponement of games for the Sun Devils this season.

Arizona State previously didn’t play Baylor in the 2K Empire Classic Tournament at the start of the season after Baylor head coach Scott Drew tested positive for coronavirus.

The Sun Devils also had a game against Incarnate Word on Dec. 18 canceled due to coronavirus issues and another against Utah postponed on Dec. 22 due to a positive case in the Utes program.

Arizona State hasn’t played in a game since Dec. 16, a loss to UTEP in Tempe.

No announcement has been made for the Sun Devils’ next game against UCLA on Jan. 7 in Tempe.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
