NCAA’s One Shining Moment includes tribute to GCU’s late Oscar Frayer

Apr 5, 2021, 9:48 PM

After the biggest game of the college basketball season wraps up, there’s a reason to hang around, with the NCAA’s One Shining Moment video montage that highlights some moments from the NCAA Tournament.

This year’s had a touching nod about halfway through.

Grand Canyon wing Oscar Frayer was shown making a big-time block that surely would have made the cut for the video regardless of the circumstances. But an extra shot of Frayer was included after, a tribute to his passing.

The 23-year-old died in a car accident in late March, only a few days after competing for the school in its first-ever tournament appearance.

Frayer, a 6-foot-7 wing, averaged 6.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 24 games (all starts) for the Antelopes this past season.

Many applauded the gesture by the NCAA in the video:
