Starting pitcher Corbin Martin will make his Arizona Diamondbacks debut during the team’s series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team announced Tuesday.

Additionally, starting pitcher Luke Weaver (right shoulder strain) will not make his next start and is headed to the 10-day injured list.

Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro was first to report the moves, adding that pitcher Taylor Widener (right groin strain) could make his next start if all goes well in his rehab assignment with the Triple-A Reno Aces on Tuesday.

Martin, who came over as part of the Zack Greinke trade in 2019, is considered the D-backs’ seventh best prospect by MLB Pipeline. He played just five games with the Houston Astros that season before being dealt.

In two starts this season for the Aces, Martin is 1-0 with a 1.86 ERA. He’s struck out 14 and walked six over 9.2 innings of work.

Weaver heads to the IL after exiting Sunday’s start just four innings in due to right shoulder discomfort.

He said after the game the move was precautionary and that he would have an MRI on Monday.

“I feel pretty confident to be honest, knowing my body,” Weaver said. “But I’m not the expert when it comes to the human anatomy, and we’ll make sure [Monday] when I get the imaging done, it will be precautionary and just to double-check things. But everything felt strong and all the testing went really well.”

Widener has been on the IL since April 28 with a right groin strain. In four starts this season (22.1 innings pitched), he is 1-0 with a 2.82 ERA.

He’s joined by catcher Carson Kelly (left big toe tuft fracture), starting pitcher Zac Gallen (sprained right elbow), first baseman Christian Walker (right oblique strain), outfielder Ketel Marte and infielder Asdrubal Cabrera (strained right hamstring) on the 10-day IL.

OF Kole Calhoun (left hamstring strain) was transferred to the 60-day IL on Saturday. Pitcher Tyler Clippard (capsule strain in his right shoulder) is also on the 60-day IL.

The D-backs will look to get back into the win column after back-to-back losses when they take on the Dodgers on Tuesday night.

Tune to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station at 7:10 p.m. for all the action.
