GLENDALE — The Dallas Cowboys watched from their sideline as five players were knocked out of Friday night’s contest against the Arizona Cardinals due to injuries.

The Cardinals didn’t share that same fate, but did see safety Chris Banjo (hamstring) and running back Jonathan Ward (ankle) exit the team’s 19-16 win over the Cowboys.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury provided an update on the pair ahead of Sunday’s practice.

“Banjo will not [practice] and Ward is day-to-day,” Kingsbury said. “Not sure if he is going today or not.”

Banjo finished with three tackles before the injury, while Ward rushed for 21 yards on six carries. The running back also caught three balls for 13 yards.

The safety also saw some snaps with the special teams unit.

With Banjo sidelined Sunday, Shawn Williams and rookie James Wiggins could be in line for added reps.

Both Wiggins and Williams chipped in three tackles Friday night.

If Ward is unable to go Sunday, running back Eno Benjamin, Tavien Feaster and recently signed Ito Smith should get some added work with the offense.

Benjamin was one of the stars from the team’s first preseason game, rushing for the 50 yards and a touchdown on five carries. He also had three returns of at least 24 yards, with his longest being 35.

Smith added six yards on two carries, while Feaster touched the ball four times (three carries, one catch) for 37 total yards.

EXTRA POINT

– Kingsbury is hopeful wide receivers A.J. Green and Antoine Wesley are able to do some individual work Sunday.
