Arizona Cardinals defensive end Jordan Phillips is off the COVID-19 reserve list Monday.

The team also announced that it placed cornerback Darqueze Dennard on injured reserve and reached an injury settlement with linebacker Terrance Smith.

Phillips said on Thursday that he was a breakthrough COVID-19 case after testing positive a day prior despite being fully vaccinated. He was put on the reserve list the next day.

The pass-rushing specialist has missed camp due to an undisclosed injury.

The 28-year-old appeared in nine games last season due to injury and posted 11 tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles. Phillips is pegged as a starter alongside newcomer J.J. Watt at defensive end.

Dennard heads to the injured reserve as the Cardinals have decisions left to make regarding the cornerbacks still on the roster. Malcolm Butler, Byron Murphy and Alford will make the team barring major surprises, but rookies Marco Wilson and Tay Gowan are joined on the current roster by veterans Luq Barcoo and Daryl Worley.

The Cardinals must cut the roster down to 53 players by Tuesday at 1 p.m.

Cornerback Robert Alford and left guard Justin Pugh remain on Arizona’s COVID-19 list.
