The Arizona Cardinals picked up win No. 8 on Sunday, marking the first team to achieve the feat in 2021.

Arizona added another victory to the tally, but watched as running back Chase Edmonds left the game after the first play from scrimmage with an ankle injury. He never returned.

Monday morning, reports surfaced that Edmonds is likely be headed to the injured reserve after an MRI confirmed a high ankle sprain.

While he didn’t specify how long Edmonds would be on the shelf, head coach Kliff Kingsbury sounds like he is preparing to be without the running back for the team’s Week 10 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

“We’ll see, I don’t think he’ll make it back in time for this game and then we’ll just take it from there,” Kingsbury said Monday.

The injuries don’t stop there, either, with a number of key players still dealing with some kind of ailment.

Here’s what Kingsbury had to say about the other injured Cardinals on the roster:

– Though he didn’t specify long snapper Aaron Brewer’s injury, Kingsbury is expecting him to be out for “a couple of weeks.”

Brewer is the team’s only long snapper listed on the depth chart.

– Kingsbury was vague on quarterback Kyler Murray’s status but like the way he progressed through the week:

“I don’t have a feel for it yet. … We’ll have to see how he looks when we get back out there on Wednesday and hopefully he can operate and function and do his deal.”

– Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is considered day to day with his hamstring issue. The Cardinals will keep an eye on how he progresses throughout the week.

“Hop is really just day to day still. We’ll see how he progresses as we go through the week.”

– Wide receiver A.J. Green remains in COVID-19 protocols after missing last week’s game:

“We’re hoping to get him back sooner than later, but he’s gotta test out of that thing.”

– Backup center and last week’s starting right guard Max Garcia left Sunday’s matchup early as he continues to deal with an Achilles issue:

“Max, he kinda battled through the lingering injury that he had.”

– Offensive lineman Justin Pugh is considered day to day with a calf injury.
