Arizona Cardinals backup quarterback Colt McCoy reportedly suffered a pectoral strain in the team’s 34-10 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, but should be healthy enough to play if starting signal caller Kyler Murray were forced to miss Week 11’s matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.

“It just got a little tight and I got hit a couple times, so I was kind of feeling it and then it just got to a point where I needed to get it checked out,” McCoy told reporters after the game on Sunday.

“All the tests that are still ongoing back there are positive right now.”

McCoy is 1-1 as the Cardinals starter this season.

In Week 9, McCoy filled in admirably for Murray, completing 84.6% of his passes (22-of-26) for 249 yards and a touchdown. He also ran the rock seven times for 23 yards.

The success he had last week did not pour over into Sunday’s loss to the Panthers, however, with McCoy throwing for 107 yards and an interception in the defeat.

The signal caller eventually gave way to third-stringer Chris Streveler. The quarterback completed six of his nine passes for 36 yards and was sacked twice.

As a team, Arizona was held to just 169 yards of total offense without starters like Murray, DeAndre Hopkins and Chase Edmonds due to injury.

The Cardinals take on the Seahawks in Seattle at 2:25 p.m. on Sunday. Tune to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station for all the action.
