Phoenix Suns’ Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges make Super Bowl LVI wager

Phoenix Suns wings Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson made a wager on ESPN’s NBA Today on Friday ahead of Super Bowl LVI between the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams.

Johnson (Bengals fan) and Bridges (Rams fan) made a bet that the loser would have to wear the other team’s jersey before Tuesday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers and then for every Game 1 of each playoff series.

Bridges then followed up the jersey embarrassment with one out-of-the-box idea.

“Maybe loser has to make a little lemonade stand in the offseason,” Bridges said. “That’s how confident I am.”

ESPN’s Malika Andrews added the stand should have to be in the opposing team’s city.

“You said I am going to be selling lemonade,” Johnson asked Bridges. “Bro, enjoy that lemonade, fresh-squeezed. I have a lemon tree in the backyard, you need to get some of those.”

Suns head coach Monty Williams got a joke in on the bet following the win over the Orlando Magic on Saturday and hoped the loser carries through with the bet.

“I have heard about a lemonade stand,” Williams said. “I am hopeful to find the location because I’m going to bring 1,000 pennies. My lemonade better be to my liking or am I going to have people making it over and over again until I like it.”

“The Twins” as Deandre Ayton named Bridges and Johnson, have many similarities except for their favorite NFL team, just like many brothers around the country.

Devin Booker also caught wind of the bet in the postgame press conference and said he wants to attend the Super Bowl with Johnson and Bridges.

Although Booker is a Matthew Stafford fan, he was intrigued by the possibility of Mikal losing this bet.

“I think it will be easier to get Cam Johnson to L.A. than Mikal to Cincinnati,” Booker said.
