Phoenix Suns forward Mikal Bridges has been named the winner of the Dan Majerle Hustle Award for the 2021-22 season, the team announced at Sunday’s season finale against the Sacramento Kings.

The award is presented by the Suns at the end of each season and given to the player that best personifies the hustle, grit and determination that Phoenix great Dan Majerle displayed.

Bridges’ selection as the Suns recipient this season should come as no surprise, as his name has risen into the conversation among the best defensive players in the league.

It marks the third time Bridges has won the award after winning last year and in 2019 when he was a rookie.

His third selection for the award is the second most of any player in franchise history behind P.J. Tucker, who won the award four straight seasons from 2013-2016. The Dan Majerle Hustle Award started in 2003, when Bo Outlaw won the honor.

Bridges is currently in an ironman streak of 309 active games with the Suns.

He started in all 82 games for the Suns this season and has averaged 14.3 points per game entering Sunday night’s season finale.
