NFL teams have until Tuesday to cutdown their rosters from 90 to 85 players, and the Arizona Cardinals released five players Sunday afternoon.

The Cardinals cut defensive lineman Kingsley Keke, offensive lineman Haggai Ndubuisi, offensive lineman Greg Long, running back Ronnie Rivers and cornerback Breon Borders, the team announced.

Borders is the only member of that group who played regular-season action with Arizona, lining up for 18 defensive snaps in Week 17 against the Seattle Seahawks last year.

Keke signed with the Cardinals this offseason after starting 17 games over the past two years with the Green Bay Packers. The 2019 fifth-round pick did not play in Friday’s preseason opener against the Cincinnati Bengals after landing in COVID-19 protocols last weekend.

Ndubuisi, from Nigeria, joined the team after training with the UpRise Academy in Africa, while Long signed as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue in May.

Rivers was buried in a competitive running backs battle in training camp. The undrafted rookie out of Fresno State was also in the mix for a kick return role, but he did not return a kick or carry the ball on Friday.

The Cardinals play their second preseason game Saturday against the Baltimore Ravens at State Farm Stadium.

They will need to make five more cuts by Aug. 23 before picking their final 53 ahead of Aug. 30.
