The Arizona Diamondbacks got off to a hot start against the San Diego Padres Wednesday thanks to back-to-back home runs by outfielders Daulton Varsho and Corbin Carroll.

The blast was Carroll’s first ever at the major league level.

The lefty finally got his first career homer after sending one slightly the opposite direction to left center and was not greeted with a whole lot of love from his teammates, instead getting the silent treatment.

He has thrilled fans in his early career in Phoenix, batting .276 with a .771 OPS and seven RBIs in just 29 at-bats after the home run on Wednesday.

Carroll was ranked No. 1 in ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel prospect rankings before being called to the big leagues on Aug. 29.

The No. 16 overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft hit his first ever jack just after Varsho hit his sixth homer in the last 12 games to give the D-backs a 2-0 lead in the second inning.

Varsho followed up his first at-bat with yet another blast over the right-field wall that evened the game’s score in the fourth inning. This was the first multi-homer game of his career.

Arizona fell to San Diego 6-3.
