For those Arizona Cardinals fans optimistic the early game woes would go away against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, you will have to wait another week.

Arizona fell 20-17 and their deficit was largely because of Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts who finished 26-for-36 for 239 passing yards, 61 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns in the game.

Hurts was doing practically whatever he wanted in the first two quarters, completing passes of over 20 yards two times and completing multiple 60-plus yard drives.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray struggled for a majority of the first half before catching steam heading into halftime, completing 15 of 25 passes for 138 yards, one touchdown and one interception into double coverage. He did not run the ball in the first half.

Both teams were 3-for-7 on third down and 1-for-1 on fourth down in the first half.

Although the Cardinals’ offense struggled early on, they found success after forcing Philadelphia to punt for the first time in the ballgame midway through the second quarter.

Arizona answered the two-score deficit with a six-play, 57-yard drive that ended in a 25-yard touchdown to Marquise “Hollywood” Brown. Brown hauled in the catch and pivoted upfield, making many Eagles defenders miss in the process.

This was the second first-half touchdown of the year by Arizona this season.

The Cardinals forced a consecutive and second punt of the game from the Eagles, giving Murray the ball back with just over three minutes remaining.

Arizona drove the ball 16-plays and 91 yards and got to the Philadelphia two-yard line before settling for a field goal.
