Watch: Arizona’s pick-6 party propels Cardinals to win over Saints

The Arizona Cardinals had a pick-six party to end the first half against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football at State Farm Stadium.

Not only did Cardinals cornerback Marco Wilson give his team the lead with the first interception of his NFL career, but teammate Isaiah Simmons doubled Arizona’s lead on the ensuing drive in the same exact manner.

Wilson’s touchdown marks his first since he was a senior in high school in 2016 after the CB did not register one while playing in college at Florida.

“Get the ball,” Wilson told reporters when asked what was going through his mind. “Get the ball and just go score. I saw an open grab, so I had to go score.”

Wilson joins teammate Antonio Hamilton, who also registered his first career INT against Saints quarterback Andy Dalton on the night.

The second pick-six, and third Cardinals interception of the night, marks the first time since 2015 that Arizona has returned to picks to the house in the same game after Tyrann Mathieu (33 yards) and Justin Bethel (21 yards) did it against Colin Kaepernick.

“Once I caught it, I knew it was go-time and I didn’t think anybody was going to catch me,” Simmons told reporters. “I knew (Chris) Olave was fast as hell, but I think he was on the other side of the field, so I knew I was good.

“I appreciate Zaven (Collins) blocking for me and (Bryon) Murphy had a good block on No. 10 for me, so I have to give credit to them because without them I wouldn’t have gotten in the end zone.”

Dalton was 9-for-15 (60%) in the first half with two touchdowns and 177 yards to go along with his three interceptions.

The Cardinals led the Saints at halftime, 28-14.

Arizona won the game, 42-34.

That metric marks the most points scored in a game during the Kliff Kingsbury-Kyler Murray era.
