Report: Cardinals’ Kyler Murray, Kliff Kingsbury sat down to work on communication

Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury talks to Kyler Murray #1 in the first half against the...

There have been multiple moments of visible frustration on the Arizona Cardinals’ sideline this season between quarterback Kyler Murray and head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

The most highly publicized was on Thursday Night Football in Week 7 when Murray yelled at Kingsbury to calm down on national television.

Both sides brushed that ordeal off as competitors doing their thing, an in-the-moment deal, but NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that the duo has sat down to hash out some differences.

Rapoport said the two worked on some communication issues while the quarterback has been out the past two weeks with a hamstring issue and came up with a plan to get on the same page going forward.

The duo came into the league together in 2019, and Kingsbury has been very supportive publicly of Murray since then, even saying last year that they are linked.

With both signing extensions last offseason, the Cardinals banked on them working together without much issue going forward.

Arizona did not have the cleanest start to the season at 3-6 in Murray’s first nine starts before suffering the injury. At 4-7, the team’s room for error is gone.

Murray will be back on the field Sunday.

The Cardinals take on the Los Angeles Chargers at 2:05 p.m. Sunday. Tune to 98.7, ArizonaSports.com or the Arizona Sports app.
