The Phoenix Suns waived guard Damion Baugh and forward Tyrese Samuel after Tuesday’s preseason finale against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Neither player spent any minutes on the floor during Phoenix’s four-game preseason slate, which included two contests in Macao, China.
The Valley Suns G League team acquired Baugh in a trade with the Winchester Knicks in September, while Samuel spent last season with the Valley Suns.
Baugh played 15 NBA games last season for the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 7.3 points, 3.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game on 32% shooting.
Samuel has not made his NBA debut after playing college basketball at Florida in 2023-24.
Teams can expand their typical 15-man rosters during the offseason to give different players a look. Phoenix has another cut to make before entering the regular season.
The Suns open their regular season slate on Oct. 22 at home against the Sacramento Kings.
