Jaden Henley scores career-high 29 as GCU extends win streak vs. IU Indy

Senior guard Jaden Henley scored a career-high 29 points as Grand Canyon defeated the IU Indianapolis Jaguars 91-78 on Monday night at Global Credit Union Arena in Phoenix.

The GCU ‘Lopes (8-4) pushed their win streak to three for the longest such streak of the season, as Henley shot 10 for 13 (2 for 3 from 3) and added eight rebounds, two assists and two steals in 29 minutes.

The 6-foot-7 Henley not only established a career-best points mark but eclipsed the 1,000-point milestone for his career, which has traversed stops at Minnesota, DePaul and, most recently, UNLV.

GCU is now 6-1 on its home floor.

Brian Moore Jr. shot 5 for 10 and 6 of 8 from the free-throw line to add 17 points. Efe Demirel finished with 11 points.

The Jaguars (4-10) were led by Kyler D’Augustino, who posted 24 points and two steals. IU Indy also got 16 points from Maguire Mitchell, and Aiden Miller had 11 points and a pair of steals.

GCU is coming off its first-ever conference matchup as a Mountain West member, an 82-70 victory at Wyoming.

The ‘Lopes will now spend the upcoming holidays preparing for the brunt of their conference schedule, which begins Jan. 3 with Colorado State (9-3, 0-1 Mountain West) visiting Phoenix.
