NFL OL Andrus Peat, brother of Koa, announces retirement

Three-time Pro Bowler and Valley native Andrus Peat announced his retirement Friday after 11 seasons in the NFL.

Andrus is one of several high-profile athletes in his family, with his brother Koa Peat entering his rookie NBA season with the Phoenix Suns this year. His brother Keona plays on the offensive line for the Arizona Wildcats, while fellow brothers Cassius and Todd Jr. previously played college football. Their father, Todd Sr., played seven seasons in the NFL, including three with the Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals.

Drafted 13th overall by the Saints in the 2015 NFL Draft, Peat played his first nine NFL seasons in New Orleans (2015-23). Peat played his final two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders (2024) and Pittsburgh Steelers (2025). He made 106 starts in 132 games played over the course of his career.

Peat spent three seasons at Stanford, where he earned second-team All-Pac-12 honors in 2013 and won the Morris Trophy in 2014, given to the Pac-12’s best offensive and defensive linemen, and was also named first-team All-Pac-12 that season.

Peat played high school football, basketball and track and field at Corona del Sol High School in Tempe. He was named the top football prospect by Rivals as part of the class of 2012. In basketball, he led his team to a Division I state championship.
