Jeremiyah Love dealing with ankle injury from preseason debut vs. Raiders

Arizona Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love is dealing with an ankle injury picked up in Thursday’s 27-14 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, head coach Mike LaFleur told reporters postgame.
LaFleur added he does not think it’s serious and that the running back could have returned if needed.
“I would think (he would practice this week) based off of our conversations but you never know. It’s like one of those things where maybe tomorrow it’s a little more sore than the next,” LaFleur said.
“We’ll take that day by day. But just talking to him in there, he was good, excited and happy to be out there playing.”
Love picking up an injury is about the only blemish to his strong preseason debut.
Racking up 14 touches (11 carries, three catches) for 72 yards throughout the first half, Love provided a glimpse as to why Arizona pulled the trigger on the rookie running back with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Love wasn’t the only rookie to suffer an injury on Thursday.
Second-rounder Chase Bisontis was carted off the field after going down with a left knee injury.
LaFleur said he is undergoing testing but it’s “not good.”

I'm guessing the ankle injury happened early. While I was totally impressed with Love IMHO, I thought he lacked the speed and quickness I've seen of tapes of him I watched. Depending upon the nature of his injury, ankle injuries can end up being both chronic and inhibiting.

You are correct, preseason games mean nothing. Historically, preseason games are not a good predictor of regular season play.
However, I think it's near impossible to over-estimate how huge an effect some changes can have, namely: (1) adding an elite play caller like Mike LaFleur; (2) getting rid of a cancer like the Midget whose hero ball doom; and (3) adding an elite running back along with solid depth to a running back room. The Cardinals offense already looks really good, and they haven't even incorporated Tip Reiman or McBride.
But the fact also is, that predicting the future doesn't even work for Miss Chloe. I'm guessing but considering I'm also a Cardinals fan, I'm wishing too. Nothing is yet written in stone.
Much more will be known once the regular season starts.
Agreed Preseason is meaningless, Agreed that Preseason games rip off season ticket holders.
From your posts, I'm guessing your play calling experience is limited to Madden. What made Mike LaFleur's play calling the last 2 games (really the last 7 quarters, since their was a drop off in the last Qtr vs Las Vegas) so special, was HOW HE DID IT ALL WITHOUT SCHEMING OR GAME PLANNING! He tortured the Panthers and then the Raiders D with pure vanilla, which makes me very anxious to see what he pulls out of his bag of tricks in the regular season.
By contrast, the Raiders OC, in the 4th quarter, to bring Las Vegas back, Klint Kubiak game planned regularly to get the Raiders out of "bad down-and-distance" situations when he needed big plays.
