ASU to wear Sparky helmets for 1st time this season at Texas A&M

Arizona State football is headed into one of the most hostile environments in college football, playing at No. 10 Texas A&M on Saturday, and it’s bringing Sparky with it.

ASU will wear gold helmets, white jerseys and gold pants going into Kyle Field in College Station, with mascot Sparky plastered on the helmets.

Aside from switching out the pitchfork for Sparky on the helmet and swapping a maroon jersey for white, it’s the same look the Sun Devils went with in the opener, a 70-7 win over Morgan State.

Texas A&M will wear dark red uniforms with white pants and white helmets featuring red, white, and blue logos on the sides. The helmet logos will match the one that will be at midfield at Kyle Field on Saturday.

It’s the agricultural and military institution’s Red, White and Blue Game to honor service members and those who lost their lives during 9/11, with the 25th anniversary of the terror attack occurring the day before.

ASU-Texas A&M will kick off at 9 a.m. MST on Saturday. Hear it on 98.7 and the Arizona Sports app.
