Cardinals fans deserve better, and they are demanding it
Dan Bickley points to the Cardinals' lack of home success as a major disservice to the fans.
Watch: Bickley Blast: Michael Bidwill needs to attack the root issues dragging down the Arizona Cardinals | 8 mins
The Cardinals have all sorts of problems. Their roster is flawed. Their fanbase is on the brink of mutiny. And the stadium that was supposed to save us all has become a junkyard for broken dreams.
In fact, the Cardinals have now lost 80 games in Glendale, matching the number of losses they had at Sun Devil Stadium, a college venue once blamed for all the team’s troubles.
If the Cardinals lose their next two home games, they will fall under .500 historically at home. And if they lose their next five home games, they will tie the NFL record for most consecutive home losses in history.
These numbers matter because the stadium once represented one of the greatest revivals in football. It reflected the pride we all felt in a Cardinals team that shed its awful history across three different cities and suddenly morphed into a legitimate contender. And now all of that seems lost … replaced by a firestorm of anger that I never saw coming.
For the sake of Mike LaFleur, I hope something good changes the mood — maybe a victory on Larry Fitzgerald day, maybe a huge breakout game from Jeremiyah Love or maybe an inspiring debut from Carson Beck. Because a rookie coach has enough spinning plates to deal with.
But there is a reckoning for the organization after the 2026 season, a time when the owner needs to attack the root issues dragging down this franchise. Because a region of nearly 6 million people deserves better. And now they’re demanding it.

I always give the Cards until the start of the NBA season to see if they are any good. At least they are consistent.
