Which 3 Cardinals make sense as potential trade additions for contending teams?

The Arizona Cardinals’ comeback victory against the Dallas Cowboys was impressive, but it doesn’t change the expectation that they’ll be sellers at the trade deadline.

They sit at 3-5, with all of their wins coming on the road, and they have some veteran talent that may entice contending teams.

Arizona has three players in particular who were viewed as potential swing moves in ESPN’s list of what 18 NFL contenders should do from Bill Barnwell.

The first player was safety Budda Baker, who was mentioned as the 6-1 Buffalo Bills’ luxury target. Barnwell notes that Baker is still an extremely disruptive force in his age-30 season, and that he’s only under contract for one more season following this one.

On the season, Baker has 51 tackles, 3.5 sacks and an interception, making him one of the top safeties available at the deadline.

Barnwell pegged Arizona’s other two trade candidates as targets for the 5-3 Green Bay Packers.

The Packers have star edge rusher Micah Parsons coming back soon, but they’ll want to ease him into action. The Cardinals have two available edge rushers who can provide that immediate relief: Josh Sweat and Zaven Collins, who both have familiarity with now-Packers defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon.

Sweat has had a down season this year with only three sacks, but he’s coming off a 12-sack season. Collins has 23 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble this season.

The Cardinals have already traded Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Houston Texans and Jacoby Brissett to the Baltimore Ravens.

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. MST.
