While Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride seems to be one of the organization’s most untouchable players when it comes to trade talks, that hasn’t stopped teams from checking in on his availability.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Saturday that the Denver Broncos have checked in around the league on tight ends ahead of the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday, which included the Colorado State alum and Centennial State native. He added that the Cardinals made it clear they have no intention of trading the two-time Pro Bowler.
Arizona’s stance on McBride comes as no surprise, as the All-Pro tight end is having another strong season with 66 catches (first in the NFL) for 544 yards and five touchdowns through eight games. McBride is under contract with the Cardinals through 2029.
The Cardinals have been very active ahead of the deadline as they dealt quarterback Jacoby Brissett to the Baltimore Ravens on Friday in a deal that included Arizona receiving a 2027 fourth-round pick. Arizona also dealt former first-round wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Houston Texans in a deal that included a 2027 second-round pick.
National media outlets have linked several Cardinals players as potential trade targets, including safety Budda Baker and edge rusher Josh Sweat. Schefter reported on Nov. 1 that the Dallas Cowboys were a team to watch as a potential trade destination for Sweat.
