Suns’ Devin Booker lands on NBA All-Rookie First Team

Devin Booker was a pleasant surprise for the Phoenix Suns last season, as the rookie averaged 13.8 points, 2.6 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game.

Thursday, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.

Booker, 19, is joined on the First Team by Minnesota’s Karl-Anthony Towns, New York’s Kristaps Porzingis, Denver’s Nikola Jokic and Philadelphia’s Jahlil Okafor.

Booker is the first Sun to land on the All-Rookie First Team since Amare Stoudemire in 2003 and the ninth player overall, joining Gary Gregor (1968-69), Mike Bantom (1973-74), Alvan Adams (1975-76), Ron Lee (1976-77), Walter Davis (1977-78), Armen Gilliam (1987-88), Michael Finley (1995-96) and Stoudemire.
