Suns guard Devin Booker brings a special guest to the NBA draft lottery

Devin Booker was the Suns’ lucky number 13th pick in the 2015 draft, but the 19-year-old shooting guard represented Phoenix with his own lucky charm at the NBA Draft Lottery this week.
He asked Jenna Warren, a die-hard Suns fan with Down syndrome, and her family to join him at the lottery in New York City.
Warren’s mother, Gracie Colvin, came along and spoke to Suns.com about the relationship between her daughter and the Suns guard, who is coming off a First-Team All-Rookie campaign.
“It’s been amazing,” Colvin said. “I do notice they had a bond right from the beginning. As a protective mom, I will kind of, like, you know, ‘stay with me’ and hold her back, but I never have with Devin. It’s always been genuine.”
Booker asked the Suns if he could set up the trip with Warren after he built a relationship with the 16-year-old, who got to know the rookie by arriving early to most Suns home games and watching him warm up. But only until he got to know her did Booker find out about Warren’s health issues, wrote The Arizona Republic’s Paul Coro in a feature on the Suns superfan.
By the looks of her Instagram account, it appears Warren cherished her trip with Booker.
