Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker (concussion/thumb) was ruled out on Friday for Sunday’s game at the Cincinnati Bengals.

Left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. and cornerback Kei’Trel Clark were also ruled out by Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon.

All players’ statuses on the Cardinals’ and Bengals’ injury reports remained identical from Wednesday to Thursday.

After a walk-through on Christmas Eve, Cardinals players ramped up their practice regiment.

Arizona (3-12) is preparing for the first of two road games to finish the 2025 season at Cincinnati (5-10).

Baker remains in concussion protocol, as was announced by Gannon Wednesday, after initially clearing evaluation on Sunday in a loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

He has to pass five stages in the said protocol in order to suit up for Sunday’ game at 11 a.m. on FOX.

Linebacker Josh Sweat, who exited last week after getting his ankle rolled up on, was another nonparticipant with a listed knee issue. Having a career-year in the sacks department (11), he was a bit perplexed to just be an alternate at his position for the upcoming NFL Pro Bowl Games.

Offensive linemen Kelvin Beachum and Evan Brown were also DNPs due to rest and personal reasons, respectively. Johnson rounded out the nonparticipants with his lingering knee injury.

Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. continued to be listed as limited with a heel injury. He returned after two missed games with the injury last week but was contained for one catch and 14 yards.

Michael Wilson was ahead of Harrison for individual receiver drills on Thursday.

Cornerbacks Will Johnson (thumb/chest) and Max Melton (heel) were also listed as limited.

For Cincinnati, defensive end Joseph Ossai (five sacks, two forced fumbles) was a DNP with an ankle ailment and tight end Noah Fant (33 catches, 283 yards, three touchdowns) was limited with an ankle injury.

This is what will Johnson is and will be he avoids tackling he only wants to cover but after that he refuses to tackle, you never saw a corner like Deion do that or patpet when he was here, there's a real need here for a coach with enough authority to tell gm to cut them if they refuse to play or tackle. There's always going to be players like Johnson who has the skills, the speed and instincts but they are brittle all over and it's worth drafting them the history was there from college yet Ossenfort still drafted him and now what? Injuries are in fact unavoidable but a lot of them can be prevented by having an excellent training staff who helps the players to take care of themselves but once again there's need to be a coach like Arians, parcels attitude who can get to players ears and listen but we'll see what Bildwill wants to do with this franchise going forward.

Budda Baker is worth every penny he's paid. He plays hurt. He never takes a play off. He's moving like a guy with his hair on fire on every play and he has great instincts. McBride is made up of much the same character.

Calais is old, doesn't have Budda's skill set anymore, but he has much the same desire level. Based upon what glimpses I saw this year, Walter Nolen will join them next year. As the year has progressed Darius Robinson has offered glimpses that he's actively working on improving his motor so that he can join the Club. Championship teams find a way to populate their rosters with 53 guys with that same attitude.

It's obvious to most of the NFL that Will Johnson is a major talent, evidence that he's on almost everyone's All-Rookie team. It's a fact that Johnson has skills and instinct that are near impossible to teach. I think it's way too early to know for certain where he's going to end up, what kind of player he's going to be for the next 5-10 years, but I expect by next season we'll have a much better idea.

While availability is the most important ability for sure, I really like how Johnson seems to be learning how to play with injuries, and how to treat them during the week, so that he's able to play. That's a skill set/ a discipline that's almost never talked about in College or the NFL. Right now Johnson is working on becoming expert at knowing how to rehab his groin and hamstring injuries, both long term for his career, and also in the short term, so he's able to play on Sundays. To me, it's obvious that the last couple weeks Johnson is playing despite being way less than 100% healthy. Learning how to playing thru it is an invaluable skill. In Johnson, Im seeing someone make the transformation from never being known as a workout warrior, into someone who's obviously trying to learn how to be one.

Budda Baker is a great example, a great role-model for how a player should deal with being injured. Budda plays like his hair is on fire on every play. He plays with reckless disregard for his own health. Lots of players are taught what they have to do to be able to play on Sundays. The few that not only survive, but thrive in the NFL are those who both learn what to do, but more importantly acquire the discipline to implement/ follow that path.
