Grand Canyon’s Tyon Grant-Foster will transfer to Gonzaga

Grand Canyon wing Tyon Grant-Foster tells 247 Sports that he will play the final season of his college career at Gonzaga.

The 2024 WAC Player of the year will join Mark Few’s roster as one of most impactful players remaining in the transfer portal. Choosing the Zags over both ASU and Washington.

“Amazing basketball situation,” Grant-Foster said of why he picked the Zags. “One of the best, if not the best, college coaches in the country. I know this is a place I can go get better in a real way and continue to win at a high level, and it’s been proven through their development of NBA-level wings.”

GCU loses a proven scoring threat, as the 6-foot-7 wing Grant-Foster heads to The Kennel, averaging 20.1 (2023-24) and 14.8 points per game (2024-25) in his previous two seasons with the Lopes, the former four star prospect joins former ASU shooting guard Adam Miller, leaving the desert for the pacific northwest.

Grant-Foster joined Grand Canyon in 2023 after missing a year and a half of basketball after collapsing in the locker room at halftime of the DePaul season opener in 2020.

Gonzaga will be the 25-year-old Grant-Foster’s fifth team in his college basketball career.

After being considered one of the best junior college players in the country at Indian Hills Community College, Grant Foster transferred to Kansas, where he’d play 22 games for the Jayhawks, then onto DePaul before catching on with Grand Canyon in 2023.
