Buccaneers dominate Chiefs, Tom Brady earns 7th Super Bowl ring

The hometown Tampa Bay Buccaneers grabbed the lead early in Super Bowl LV and never looked back, sealing a 31-9 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs to give quarterback Tom Brady his seventh ring and the team its first championship win since 2002.

With the victory, Bucs head coach and former Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians is now the oldest coach to win a Super Bowl.

The Bucs took a big lead at halftime, up 21-6 over last year’s winners, the Kansas City Chiefs. It was all thanks to two touchdown passes from Brady to tight end Rob Gronkowski.

The duo also set a record for most postseason touchdowns by a QB-receiver duo with a total of 14, breaking the record held previously by Joe Montana and Jerry Rice (12).

In the third quarter, Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes was picked off by rookie Antoine Winfield, Jr., later resulting in a touchdown by RB Leonard Fournette and 22 point lead for Tampa Bay.

The Chiefs were unable to find the end zone all night, recording points on three field goals by kicker Harrison Butker.

Butker knocks through a 52-yard FG. @Chiefs cut the lead to 21-9.

Tampa Bay’s defense sealed the victory with an interception in the final two minutes of the game.
